Technology for Everyone

Sukabumi, July 12, 2026 – At Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia, we believe that technology is more than just innovation—it is a powerful tool for creating equal opportunities for everyone. Digital transformation can only achieve meaningful impact when it is accessible, inclusive, and beneficial to all members of society, including persons with disabilities.

This belief forms the foundation of Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia’s commitment to Building Inclusive Communities Through Technology. Through this commitment, we develop programs that strengthen community capacity, enabling people to use technology to learn, create, participate, and improve their quality of life.

As part of this commitment, Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Sukabumi City, Atma Connect, and the Indonesian Blind Association (PERTUNI) Sukabumi City, organized the Digital Inclusion Training on Citizen Journalism and Accessible Social Media Content for Persons with Disabilities.

The training provided persons with disabilities—particularly individuals with visual impairments—with the opportunity to develop essential digital skills needed in today’s information age. Participants learned the fundamentals of citizen journalism, accessible social media content creation, the use of assistive technologies, and digital storytelling techniques to effectively share information, experiences, and aspirations with the wider community.

For Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia, citizen journalism is a vital skill that enables every individual to become an active participant in a more open, participatory, and inclusive information ecosystem. By acquiring these skills, community members become not only consumers of information but also responsible creators of accurate and meaningful content that benefits their communities.

Sulaeman, Chair of the Indonesian Blind Association (PERTUNI) Sukabumi City, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration that created meaningful learning opportunities for persons with disabilities.

“This training means a great deal to us. Persons with disabilities also want to continue learning and keeping pace with technological advancements so that we are not left behind. We want to demonstrate that we can create, share information, and contribute to society when we are given equal opportunities.”

According to Sulaeman, inclusive training initiatives such as this not only enhance digital skills but also build confidence and create greater opportunities for persons with disabilities to become more independent and actively contribute to their communities.

Dinar Mochamad, Staff Member of PMI Sukabumi City Headquarters, emphasized that the initiative reflects a shared commitment to ensuring equal access to information, education, and technology for everyone.

“We hope that persons with disabilities will not only become users of technology but also citizen journalists and content creators who share positive stories and information from their communities.”

Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia believes that technology should serve as a tool for empowerment that is accessible to everyone. Therefore, every innovation, digital platform, and capacity-building program we develop is guided by the principles of inclusion and accessibility, ensuring that they reach communities that have historically faced barriers to technology, including persons with disabilities, women, people living in vulnerable areas, and other marginalized groups.

Through collaboration with PMI Sukabumi City, Atma Connect, and PERTUNI Sukabumi City, this training represents a tangible step toward creating a more inclusive digital society. When everyone has equal opportunities to access technology and develop digital skills, they become not only beneficiaries of digital transformation but also active changemakers who strengthen their communities.

For Yayasan Saka Warga Indonesia, Building Inclusive Communities Through Technology is more than a slogan—it is a long-term commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital era. We believe that technology creates its greatest impact when it expands access, opens opportunities, and empowers everyone to learn, create, and contribute to building stronger, more inclusive communities.
